Boerne

Escape to charming historic Boerne (pronounced BUR-nee). Located in the county seat of Kendall County, is a beautiful small German heritage town that is conveniently located on Cibolo Creek, IH 10 and U.S. Highway 87 thirty miles northwest of San Antonio in the southern part of the county.

The population of Boerne is approximately 7,500.

Named in honor of Ludwig Börne, a German author and publicist. His bronze statue is located on the grounds of the Public Library.

The old county courthouse was built in 1870 and the front section was added to the building in 1909. This courthouse remains in use today which makes it the second oldest courthouse in Texas.
