San Antonio Childrens Museum
The San Antonio Childrens Museum is a unique and innovative educational resource dedicated to those we serve. Through interactive play, we inspire a journey of life-long learning, ultimately enriching lives and positively impacting the San Antonio community and beyond. San Antonio's children's museum offers a terrific, creative introduction to the city for the pint-sized and grown-up alike.
San Antonio history, population, and geography are all explored through such features as a miniature River Walk, a multicultural grocery store, a bank where kids can use their own ATM, and even a miniature dentist's office (more fun than you'd imagine). In 1993, San Antonio was the only top ten city without a hands-on, interactive museum specifically designed for children. At that time, many diverse groups began working together to make a children's museum in San Antonio a reality. Since opening its doors in September of 1995, more than one million visitors have explored the over 80 educationally and culturally based exhibits. Parties are available Tuesday through Sunday all summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day) and on Saturdays and Sundays during the school year (Labor Day to Memorial Day.)
Activities range from crawl spaces and corn-grinding rocks to a weather station and radar room. Don't miss this place if you're traveling with children up to age 10. Throwing a birthday party is a piece of cake at the San Antonio Children's Museum. San Antonio Childrens Museum 305 E Houston St San Antonio, TX 78205 (210) 212-4453
