Walk in the footsteps of legends...

“Old Brack” is noted as the oldest 18-hole public golf course in Texas. The course, located in the heart of San Antonio next to historic Brackenridge Park, has been inducted into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame and was recently honored as the first golf facility in the Texas Registry of Historic Sites. Brackenridge offers you the chance to walk in the footsteps of legends. It was the original site of the PGA Winter Tour and later the Texas Open. But don’t let its history fool you. Old Brack still has plenty of bite. It’s said to still be a true test of shot making. Old oak and pecan trees on the front nine make for narrow fairways and require accurate tee shots. On the back nine, open fairways provide a bit of relief for those whose game comes complete with a slice and a hook.

Drive through the Texas Hill Country...

Cedar Creek is no ordinary muni. It has been ranked as one of the top municipal golf courses in the state. Get away from it all at this hidden golf gem in north San Antonio. Even if you’re round of golf is something you’d rather forget, all will not be lost. A long, straight drive through the Texas Hill Country will keep you coming back for more. This demanding course winds through limestone hillsides and up and down steep elevation changes. Waterfalls and meandering creeks will make you think you’re playing one of the pricey resort courses. Bring extra golf balls! While the fairways can be generous, errant shots will be hard to find in the oak thickets that line the course. And don’t forget your short game. Multi-tiered greens will test your accuracy and skill with your irons. Driving range is available on site.

A links-style course that's no day at the beach...

You could say Mission Del Lago is Cedar Creek’s alter ego. Unlike its sister course in the hills of the northside, Mission is set near the shores of Mitchell Lake on the flat lands of San Antonio’s south side. However, this links-style course is no day at the beach. Its windy, wide open spaces take many of Cedar Creek’s trees out of play. But don't relax, more than 120 sand traps and numerous water hazards spread across the course offer consequences for the flaws in your game. And don't forget your short game, you'll need it for Mission's multi-tiered greens. Five sets of tee markers offer a challenge for all skill levels. Driving range is available on site.

Break away from life's highway...

One of San Antonio’s most popular municipal golf courses located just north of Olmos Dam in the Olmos Flood Basin, off the beaten path of Highway 281. Olmos Basin has been the site of numerous men’s, ladies’, and amateur city championships over the years. Stray from the busy highway with this honest, straightforward test of golf that offers a little bit of everything: narrow, tree-lined fairways that require accuracy with your driver and long irons; occasional water hazards and creeks to contemplate; long, demanding par 3 holes; and a couple of reachable par 4s that beg for you to pull the big dog out of your bag and let it rip.

A golf course for the whole family...

Riverside is a golf course for the whole family. The course, located just south of downtown, features an 18-hole championship layout for the seasoned golfers in the family and a 9-hole, par 3 course for beginners. As the name suggests, the San Antonio River lines several holes. Trees on the front nine require you to keep it straight, particularly the one blocking the right side of the seventh fairway, while the back nine give you the chance to grip it and rip it.

Take the long way home...

Willow Springs has been a true test for many San Antonio golfers over the years. The popular course, site of several Texas Opens and frequent local amateur tournaments, is located in east San Antonio across the street from the AT&T Center. Each hole, with its long, open fairways and elevation changes, will keep you contemplating what club to use on your next shot. Large ponds and the Salado Creek are frequent collectors of misguided golf balls. And you’ll barely warm up your swing before you’ll have to face the formidable second hole. The 663-yard, winding par 5 and its well-guarded green, the longest hole in San Antonio, will make you realize you took the long way home with a challenging round golf at Willow Springs.
