The San Antonio Conservation Society continued conservation efforts for Midtown which will benefit the city for years to come. Take a scenic drive through the rolling Texas Hill Country and it really seems obvious that it is a "whole other country." Vast expanses of land that many people imagine when they think of Texas with flat, windblown tumbleweed prairies it is not. The Hill Country is a 14,000-square-mile area the lies in the heart of the state stretching roughly from San Antonio to Austin, including over 50 cities and attracts more than 5 million visitors each year. Once they see it, they realize they have found an oasis! From the spectacular laid-back quality of life that remains here, to the magnificent scenery you will be amazed at how much you can afford here and what luxury living is all about.
What's the attraction? It's kind of like Colorado without the steep peaks and the snow, Portland without as much rain and more things to do than most people imagine. Small towns like Fredericksburg, Stonewall, Marble Falls, Horseshoe Bay, Lakeway, New Braunfels, Gruene (pronounced "green"), Dripping Springs, Wimberley, Bandera and Llano are attracting those with considerable wealth and time who simply want a little slice of heaven where they can relax, enjoy exquisite dining, maybe visit a dude ranch, shop in exclusive boutiques and explore Texas wine country. No one is coming here thinking they're going to lose money investing in real estate. Many luxury home buyers have winter homes in the middle of the Hill Country or condos in downtown Austin or San Antonio so they can easily travel back and forth when they want.
